The Lady Commandos won their second game in a row against Fenton (IL) by a score 13-5. Hendersonville got on the board early with a run in the first and second innings. The first run was driven in by Ashleigh Stratton. Emily Mays would lead off the game and get hit by a ball, she would then steal second base, then move to third on a throwing error. The second inning woul see Rachel Hackett score (courtesy running for the pitcher - Alexis Meadors). Ashleigh Stratton would bring Rachel hom on a single. The Bison (Fenton, IL) would cut the lead in half in the third inning by a walk, followed by two hits. The bottom of the third would see ten Lady Commandos cross the plate. The inning was started with Destiny Paul getting on base by an infield error. Julia Meade would walk, followed by a Becca Griffin single to load the bases. The next four batters would be walked or get hit by a pitch in order (Melody Watson, Alexis Meadors, Emily Mays, and Ashleigh Stratton. Carly Corah would then single to bring in two runs, Destiny Paul would single to bring in another run. Lindseay Munn would then triple to clear the bases. The final run of the inning came from Becca Griffin on a double. Fenton was able to get on the board in the fourth inning with four runs off five hits and a walk. The final run of the game came from a double by Julia Meade which drove in Kalli Brothers (running for Destiny Paul who hit a double). This run ended the game with a final score of 13-5 in favor of Hendersonville. The winning pitcher was Alexis Meadors, the losing pitcher for Fenton (IL) was Alyssa Ciepley. Alexis struck out four batters in her three innings.
The Lady Commandos will continue in the Lady Warrior Invitational on Friday playing at Smyrna High School at 1:00 and 5:00 against teams from Illinois.
