The Lady Commandos tied up the game in the top of the sixth inning at five a piece. A wild pitch would bring the game to a close giving the Lady Panthers a victory in the district game. Portland would get on the board first with two runs in the bottom of the second inning. The inning would see two hits and an error that brought home two Panthers. Hendersonville would cut the lead in half in the top of the third inning with a homerun by Emily Mays (her first as a Lady Commando). Hendersonville would then take the lead in the fourth inning. Julia Meade would get walked in the inning, followed by an infield hit by Becca Griffin. The two runners would get moved a base over on a sacrifice bunt. Melody Watson would then single to bring in one run, which was followed by an Emily Mays single to bring Becca Griffin home. The lead would last one inning as Portland owuld get three runs in the fifth inning. R. Graves would hit a solo homerun. The next two runs came off one hit and two errors. Hendersonville would come to bat in the top sixth trailing by two. The Lady Commandos would get two runners home courtesy of walks to tie up the score. The score would remain the same going into the bottom of the seventh inning. R. Graves would lead off the inning with a single, followed by another infield single by M. Stewart. A passed ball would move the runners into scoring position where a wild pitch brought Graves home for the winning score. Julia Meade pitched the entire way for the Lady Commandos giving up two earned runs. Julia struck out two batters, while givin up no walks. The winning pitcher for Portland was W. Kendall, who came in to pitch the final three innings.
In the JV game that followed the Lady Commandos scored two runs in the final inning of the game to win by a score of 4-2. Hendersonville would take the early lead with two runs in the first inning. Ashleigh Stratton would start the game by getting hit by a pitch. Ashleigh's courtesy runner (Brittany Noe) would get to second by a sacrifice bunt by Katee Byrd. Brittany would score on a fielders choice by Alex Walker. Alex Walker would score on a wild pitch. Portland tied up the game in the bottom of the first with two runs, which was aided by two Lady Commando errors. The game would remain the same for the next two innings until the the top of the fourth. Jessica Conley would get walked to start the inning, which was followed by a sacrifice bunt by Ashley Brewer. Lindsey Munn would enter the game as a runner for Jessica and get to third on a wild pitch. Lindsey would score on a throwing error by the Lady Panthers. Ashleigh Stratton would go around the bases by getting walked and then a couple of wild pitches. This led to the final score of 4-2 in favor of the Lady Commandos. The winning pitcher in the game was Brooke Biggerstaff. Brooke struck out two Lady Panthers, while giving up no walks and five hits. Brooke had one earned run in the game.
