Oakland scores late to beat HHS
Thursday, April 07, 2011

The second game of the Border Battle saw the Lady Commandos take on the Patriots from Murfeesboro Oakland.  HHS got on the board first in the game in the third inning.  Taylor Jontz would start the inning by being walked.  Brittany Kemp would move Taylor to second with a sacrifice bunt.  Julia Meade would then hit a double to score Taylor and get an RBI.  Melody Watson would then hit a double to score Julia.  This would be all the scoring on the evening for the Lady Commandos.  HHS would leave to runners stranded in the bottom of the sixth inning and had an opportunity in the bottom of the seventh, but coming up short.

The games on Friday and Saturday morning are the games that count towards the pool play and then seeding in the single elimination tournament.  The pools consist of three teams, HHS, Franklin County, and Moore County.  HHS also plays a game that  does not count as a pool play game against Athens, AL.  Athens is the defending 5A state champions.
