HHS drops cross-town rival Gallatin

The Lady Commandos picked up their third district win of the season against rival Gallatin by a score 13-2.  HHS got on the board in the top of the first inning.  Brittany Kemp would start of the game with an infield single, Julia Meade would follow with a single.  Sami Westcott would then hit a double to drive in both Brittany and Julia.  Sami would score on a groundout by Becca Griffin.  Julia Meade and Sami would score in the second inning as well.  Lindsey Munn would start off the inning with a double to centerfield.  Lindsey would move to third on a passed ball and then score on a deep sacrifice flyball to centerfield by Rachel Hackett.  Julia Meade would then single up the middle, followed by a fielders choice by Sami Westcott, Melody Watson would then be hit by a ball to load the bases.  Destiny Paul would have a single to rightfield to score Julia and Sami.  Becca Griffin would then single to right field to drive in Melody and Destiny.  HHS would add two more runs in the fourth inning on a two run homerun to left field by Sami Westcott.  She would bring in Julia Meade (who doubled previous to the homerun by Sami).  The homerun by Sami is her second of the season.

 

Several batters would have good days at the plate.  Brittany Kemp would finish 2-3 with three singles, two runs scored, and a walk.   Julia Meade would finish 3-3 with two singles, a double, four runs scored, and a walk.  Sami Westcott would finish 2-4 with a double and a homerun with four RBI's.  Melody Watson would finish 1-3 with a run scored and three RBI's.  Destiny Paul finished 2-3 with two singles, a run scored, and a walk. 

 

Julia Meade picked up the win for the Lady Commandos, her seventh of the season.  Julia struck out two batters, walked no one, hit one batter, gave up six hits, and zero unearned runs.

 

The Lady Commandos travel to Lincoln County for the Border Battle over a three day span, before returning back to district play.
